Gwyneth Paltrow 'irked Carolyn Bessette'

Gwyneth Paltrow is said to have "irked" Carolyn Bessette.
The accusation has resurfaced in writer Amy Odell's biography of the 53-year-old Sliding Doors actress in the wake of the release of the television drama Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, which dramatises the relationship between Carolyn and John F. Kennedy Jr..
Amy said in her book Gwyneth: The Biography: "One of the publicists on the brand's small team who helped Gwyneth was Carolyn Bessette.
"According to one person familiar with her thinking, Gwyneth irked her. When there were pictures of Gwyneth in the papers, Bessette, who viewed her as 'little miss perfect,' would make cutting remarks about her."
Carolyn became the wife of John F Kennedy Jr, and apparently was not a fan of Gwyneth during her early years as a high-profile client of Calvin Klein.
Gwyneth, the daughter of Hollywood veteran Blythe Danner, was a prominent figure within Calvin Klein's circle before winning an Oscar for Shakespeare in Love in 1999.
Designer Calvin is said to have hosted events in her honour, lent her his helicopter and positioned her front row at shows internationally.
Carolyn worked her way up within the fashion house before she left the company in 1996 and later married John, with both dying in a plane crash in 1999.
Carolyn's career at Calvin Klein began in retail before she rose to senior roles in publicity and show production, ultimately earning a six-figure salary.
She left the company amid intense media attention before her marriage to John.
Gwyneth's personal life has also remained in focus.
The new Kennedy drama, created by Connor Hines, is based on Elizabeth Beller's 2024 book Once Upon a Time and achieved an 81 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The cast includes Sarah Pidgeon, Paul Anthony Kelly, Grace Gummer, Naomi Watts, Alessandro Nivola, Dree Hemingway, Tonatiuh, Constance Zimmer, Sydney Lemmon, Donal Logue, Jessica Harper, Michael Nathanson and Leila George.
Gwyneth has also been in the news for passing her 1990s wardrobe to her daughter, Apple Martin.
Apple, 21, said: "My absolute favourite stuff is her old Calvin Klein from the nineties.
"Going into (my mother's) archive closet is just heaven on earth."
Gwyneth has recently signed on to executive produce and star in an adaptation of Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage by Belle Burden, with the project produced by Stacey Sher and Heidi Schreck for Netflix.
